Friend of the ‘cast and Collision twitter buddy Holly Wendt just posted a really interesting account of, for want of a better word, enthusiasms on her blog. In it she references the two “no you’re not” segments from our last issuepisode and rather gently mentions our “curmudgeonliness”. And I’ll cop to that–it’s something I’ve been thinking about more than a little bit with respect to that particular issuepisode.

Not entirely sure why, but it’s certainly safe to say that the mood of #6 (!) was…more than faintly sour. It’s always been my aim to, in that project as in my life, to celebrate the things worth celebrating, bring attention to the things worth attending to. Sure, it’s always a good idea to call bullshit on bullshit–and I continue to be repulsed by my generation’s insipid devotion to commercialism & self-imposed infantilization–but life is short, and I think I’d like it better if I spent more time in it for joy than kicking against the pricks.

So next time out, I think I’ll shoot explicitly for a little more “this be rad” vibe, maybe a little less frustrated hectoring.
